Whether it was Neil Patrick Harris’ funny, yet cheesy one liners or the touching moment when Common and John Legend took the stage to sing “Glory,” this awards show did not disappoint. And just like any other Oscar show, we saw our fair share of gorgeous gowns and perfectly tailored tuxes which also did not disappoint.

So let’s take a look some of the Oscar’s best dressed Hollywood stars!

Rosamund Pike

“Gone Girl’s” leading lady looked stunning at this year’s Oscars in a red lace Givenchy gown. After some mixed reviews of the white Vera Wang dress she wore to this year’s Golden Globes, people were anxiously awaiting what she would walk down the red carpet in for this awards show.

Many thought her Golden Globe’s dress was gorgeous, though ill-fitting. While this may be the case, this woman can look beautiful in anything and this sexy red dress is sure to make anyone forget about any past red carpet appearances.

Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o is no stranger to landing on a best dressed list. Time and time again, this girl looks perfect in everything she wears. Usually Nyong’o wears a bright, fresh pop of color, however she went a different route at this year’s Oscars.

Instead of her usual, she showed up at the Oscars in an all-white Calvin Klein gown. This wasn’t your average white gown though; if you look closely, you’ll see around 6,000 pearls embellishing the entire dress. It’s clear that Lupita can do no wrong on the red carpet.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon looked absolutely flawless in this black and white Tom Ford dress. The color blocking of this dress makes a bold, graphic impact, but on the other hand, this dress is also classic and timeless.

Witherspoon struck a great balance of old and new with this gown and it’s undeniable how great she looks in the form fitting style of the dress.

David Oyelowo

David Oyelowo definitely caught our attention with his performance in “Selma” as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. But he definitely kept our attention when he walked down the red carpet in a burgundy Dolce and Gabbana tuxedo.

This was a fun divergent from the typical black tux we are used to seeing on the red carpet. And if this is any indication of what Oyelowo plans to wear on the red carpet in the future, I can’t wait to see him on the next red carpet!

Emma Stone

Emma Stone is known for choosing some bold looks on the runway. Though this year’s Oscar look for this young Hollywood star cannot be described as bold, it’s still impressive nonetheless.

The yellow-gold color of this Elie Saab gown looks stunning against Stone’s fair complexion, and her makeup and hair accompany the dress flawlessly. Plus, the high slit and sheer detailing throughout the gown give this long-sleeve, high neck gown a touch of sexiness without being overbearing.

This is definitely one of Emma Stone’s best looks yet.

Julianne Moore

It should come as no surprise that this year’s Best Actress Oscar winner is on the best-dressed list. After all, Julianne Moore is a veteran of the red carpet, so she knows what she’s doing.

This year, the star chose to wear a Chanel Haute Couture gown made with intricate white sequins and floral embroidery. The color of the gown was just as radiant as Moore’s porcelain complexion and glowing smile. There is no denying Julianne Moore looked fabulous!

And she better, because according to Harper’s Bazaar, this gown took over 987 hours to make and there were 27 people working on it. No wonder this dress is so remarkable!

Eddie Redmayne

This year’s Best Actor Oscar winner didn’t disappoint on the red carpet either! Just like his female counterpart, Redmayne looked handsome and dapper in a navy blue Alexander McQueen tux with black lapels.

The black and navy combination is super chic. Mr. Redmayne definitely deserves a round of applause for this red carpet look.

Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts didn’t show up on the red carpet wearing a gown you would typically see at the Oscars. Instead, she went with a very graphic print and cutouts.

Watts took a risk wearing this Armani Prive gown, but the risk worked in her favor. While she did look gorgeous, just like every other star on the red carpet, Naomi Watts’ look was just cool, which is a breath of fresh air on the Oscar’s red carpet.

Obviously there were countless more gorgeous, show-stopping looks seen at this year’s Oscars. This list only scratches the surface, but these stars definitely deserve to be at the top.
