As a fashion blogger on my campus, and because I love it, looking good is kind of important to me. This goes from class to events and even the Rec Center.

So whether it’s your new year’s resolution to get fit or you spend most of your time at the gym, here are some fashionable ideas for your next workout.

1. Fitness leggings

Black fitness leggings are the standard bottoms for the gym. While I don’t always promote following trends, you may want to stock up on athletic leggings. I mean, at least get one pair.

In addition, leggings that you bought cheap at Forever 21 will do just as well.

2. Yoga shorts

Since you’re sweating, unless you’re coming in wearing your workout clothes, whether you wear shorts or pants doesn’t really matter.

Yoga shorts are adorable, with all their cute patterns on the fold over. They can easily be paired with basic tanks to pop the colors.

3. Yoga pants

If you’re not into leggings, yoga pants will do just as well. They might even make you sweat more, which is always a good thing.

Stores like Victoria’s Secret and Aerie are nice, but even the cheap ones are fine. Neutral colors like gray or black work best.

4. Cool tops

Something fun about workout clothes is all the cool tops–like tops with cutouts and straps. This is a good time to mention that along with fun tops, there are a lot of unique sports bras out there.

If your top doesn’t show the bra, easily throw on a cami and all the straps will easily be shown.

5. Printed leggings

I have personally not picked up on this yet, but black workout leggings are slowly being replaced with printed ones. A Pilates instructor I had last semester had Calvin Klein leggings with all these fun green and white swirls on them.

There’s also patterned, colored ones, that will be fun as the weather gets warmer. Note that there’s a difference between workout leggings and regular ones.

6. Sneakers

I just recently ordered a patterned pair of Nikes, to replace the cheap sneakers I bought last year. If you’re planning on exercising a lot, you probably want to make the investment in good sneakers this year. Believe it or not, good sneakers are important, and of course make you look awesome.

7. Headbands

With boy-short hair, I don’t have to worry much about my hair getting in my face, but most girls do. In addition to putting it in a ponytail, it might be cool to get some sporty headbands.

Hair is almost as important as what you wear. Don’t think you have to get a Nike one, but a hair accessory definitely ups your gym fashion game.

Working out and exercising, whether it’s running around the block or going to the gym can be a lot of fun and is filled with benefits. Just like being out on campus, looking fashionable can help you feel good about yourself, which is important in this scenario.

I hope this gave you some ideas and gives you some more inspiration to start working out, if you want to.
